Welcome to Artifex 2019 With more than 70 events, such as our Graffiti Competition, Colour Run, Drone Racing, Bake Off and our Prom in the Park concert, this is the busiest Artifex yet. Lots of favourites make a welcome return this year, such as Cinema on the Ceiling, Interhouse Pushkart Derby, International Food Fair and our cafe with ice cream shop as well. Running throughout Artifex is a special exhibition in collaboration with the Godalming Museum of local etchings by Old Carthusian, Percy Robertson (P1885). His etchings and engravings of the local area give a rare glimpse into a 19th century Godalming which had only just welcomed Charterhouse to its environs following the school’s relocation from London.

Find out about the latest creative craze, Bullet Journals. The lucky workshop participants will learn how to create your own bullet journal. All participants will receive a brand new bullet journal and special pen.
Our annual food fair involves the finest street food from around the world with curry burgers, churros and tacos to Greeek food and the latest in vegetarian cuisine.
Which house will win the race around the school? Which house will have designed the sturdiest, sightly and speediest kart? How many karts will disintegrate before the race finishes? Come and find out in the second ever pushkart derby.

Our enterprising team of fourths designers and craftsman have built drones fit for racing around our cavernous sports hall. Come along and have a go at flying these drones in a brand new Artifex competition.
For the first time in 5 years, we have a restaurant entirely managed by our pupils. Both working as chefs and in the front of house, lucky guests will be able to eat a three-course meal in the tasteful surroundings of Senior Hall in Gownboys. Pupil Night: tickets must be booked in advance.

Get covered in paint, take part in some weird photographs and have a whole load of fun in our first ever colour run. Starting at the bottom of Racket’s Court Hill, this is sure to be a messy, if colourful affair.
The House Debating Final reaches its climax with our grand final in the Dome. The matter up for debate will almost certainly be political and controversial.
Two of our Italian pupils put together a celebration of all things Italian culture, especially their food and wine. Wine only available for adults and approved list of 1st Year Specialists.

The 'Designer of the Year' competition is the highlight of the Design and Technology calendar. The winning pupil and other commended awards are chosen by external judges who spend an entire afternoon considering each product.

With an expert orchestra of pupils, professionals and OCs, this is certain to be a treat. Bring a picnic, a bottle and settle down for a special evening of music as we toast the end of Artifex 2019.
